Aidan MacMillan

Investment Director

Aidan joined PXN in 2018 and works across origination, diligence and portfolio management. He previously spent several years at Deloitte in Transaction Services, advising corporate and private equity clients on M&A, due diligence and restructuring. Aidan is a member of the ICAEW and holds a degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Strathclyde. At PXN, he leads on deal execution and post-investment support in technology, digital health and industrial software, helping founders manage capital efficiently and prepare for future rounds.

Alastair Lewis

Business Development Manager

Alastair manages adviser relationships across Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North East of England. He has more than 25 years of financial services experience, including senior distribution roles at Octopus Investments and Blackfinch Investments. His expertise spans EIS, VCT and BR products, and he plays a key role in helping advisers access PXN’s full range of tax-efficient and growth investment opportunities.

Alastair Moore

Investment Director

Alastair focuses on sourcing, diligence and portfolio management across PXN’s venture funds. Before joining, he worked in KPMG’s M&A team and in corporate banking at NatWest, advising growing companies on acquisitions and capital structure. Alastair holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and works closely with founders on commercial strategy, governance and scaling operations.

Alison Kerr

Finance Manager

Alison manages management accounts, reporting and controls across PXN’s group entities and funds. She joined from Henderson Loggie, where she delivered audit and management accounting services across a range of corporate clients. A qualified accountant with strong financial systems experience, Alison ensures PXN’s financial reporting remains accurate, compliant and scalable as the business continues to grow.

Amy Lowrey

Content Executive

Amy supports PXN’s marketing and communications, producing digital and print content for advisers, investors and portfolio companies. She works closely with the commercial and investment teams to ensure PXN’s materials are consistent, informative and aligned with the group’s tone and brand. Amy’s background in creative design helps her combine clear messaging with visual impact across campaigns.

Andrew Castell

Partner

Andrew is a founding partner and member of Par Equity Investment Committee. A chartered accountant, he began his career at Touche Ross (now Deloitte) before moving into investment banking, focusing on corporate finance and restructuring. Andrew has spent more than 20 years working in venture and private equity and now provides governance and strategic oversight across PXN’s portfolio.

Andrew Noble

Chief Operation Officer, PXN Group

Andrew leads PXN’s operational activity and fund strategies and is a member of several investment committees. A former Partner at Par Equity, Andrew rejoined the firm after launching a start-up and founding Transition Capital following a period at McKinsey & Company, where he helped FTSE 100 clients through sales optimisation engagements. Andrew has participated in more than 70 venture investments and brings experience as both an investor and operator. Andrew holds an MBA from INSEAD and represented Team GB as an alpine skier at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Andy Barrow

Managing Director, PXN Ventures

Andy leads PXN Ventures, overseeing venture investment activity and portfolio performance. Before joining, as CTO he led ANS Group, a Manchester-based cloud and digital transformation company that scaled to over 300 people before its acquisition by Inflexion Private Equity. Andy brings deep experience in technology, product development and leadership, working hands-on with founders to help them scale efficiently and sustainably.

Ben Collister

Internal Business Development Manager

Ben supports PXN’s internal sales operations, managing adviser engagement, case tracking and product support. He joined from a background in wealth management and accounting and assists with data, reporting and relationship management for the adviser network. Having completed his level 4 qualification, Ben has a wider knowledge of the advice process allowing him to help advisers identify where tax efficient investments may be suitable.

Ben Davies

Marketing Director

Ben leads marketing across PXN, overseeing brand strategy, content, communications and portfolio support. Before joining, he led marketing for Social Chain’s media division and co-founded a hospitality and co-working business. Ben specialises in shaping clear, engaging narratives for PXN’s founders, investors and adviser partners, ensuring the brand reflects the group’s long-term ambitions.

Ben Hemingway

Insights Executive

Ben works in the PXN insight team, reviewing and analysing data from the PXN Investment team to provide support to our regional focused teams. He works to remove friction from our investor journey and accuracy across all investor-facing materials, helping ensure PXN’s products are clear, compliant and easy to access.

Caroline Flagg

Strategic Partnerships Director

Caroline manages strategic partnerships with national advice networks and wealth managers across the UK, as well as private client investors. She joined PXN after more than a decade at Octopus Investments, where she held roles in retail & wholesale distribution and private markets product development. Caroline has broad experience across tax-efficient investments and plays a key role in ensuring advisers have the support and materials they need to work confidently with PXN.

Claire Cramm

Investment Manager

Claire supports PXN’s venture team on origination, diligence and portfolio engagement. She joined after working with a Boston-based SaaS business in commercial strategy and analytics and previously completed internships in investor relations and business development. A graduate of Northeastern University, she combines analytical rigour with first-hand operator experience, focusing on high-growth technology and deep-tech businesses.

Clara Baltay

Investment Analyst

Clara supports PXN’s investment team across sourcing, diligence and portfolio work. Before joining, she worked at SYSTEMIQ, a London-based sustainability and circular economy venture and policy business, and earlier helped run an e-commerce startup, giving her practical insight into founder challenges. Clara holds an MSci in Biochemistry from University College London and focuses on climate and industrial technologies.

Dave Foreman

Chief Executive Officer, PXN Group

Dave is CEO of PXN Group, leading the platform formed through the merger of Praetura Ventures and Par Equity. A qualified ACA who trained at KPMG, he co-founded Praetura Ventures in 2011 to back founders in the North of England and address the regional funding gap. Having overseen over 100+ early stage investments, he is known as one of the leading voices in venture capital outside of the South East. Under his leadership, PXN has become one of the UK’s leading regional investors, known for combining capital with hands-on support and insight.

Elizabeth Young

Investment Manager

Elizabeth works across origination and portfolio management, with a focus on healthcare, deeptech and life sciences investments. She previously worked at ACF Investors, specialising in HealthTech and DeepTech investments. Lizzy holds a PhD in Medical Engineering from the University of Leeds, where she researched spinal cord injury and worked on a digital health startup project. She also contributed to the Creator Fund, supporting the Northern pre-seed ecosystem for students and spinouts.

Emily Thompson

Finance Director

Emily leads PXN’s finance and reporting functions across the group. She is an ICAS-qualified accountant and spent ten years with Lloyds Banking Group in senior finance roles before moving into venture investment. Emily ensures robust financial controls, efficient reporting and scalable systems that support PXN’s growth trajectory.

Emma Honess

Head of Brand

Emma oversees PXN’s brand identity and design output. Before joining, she was a senior designer at Manchester agencies, delivering campaigns across digital, print and experiential channels. Emma ensures that PXN’s visual identity reflects the group’s ambition and remains consistent across all investor, founder and adviser touchpoints.

Giles Moore

Regional Development Manager

Giles connects PXN with founders, universities and partners across the UK, supporting origination and ecosystem engagement. A serial entrepreneur before joining PXN, he has founded and exited multiple businesses in technology and services. Giles brings deep operational experience and works to identify emerging opportunities and build early relationships with promising founders.

Harry Manley

Investment Associate

Harry supports PXN’s Ventures team on deal sourcing, diligence and financial analysis. Before joining, he worked at KPMG and holds a first-class degree in Business Economics from the University of Liverpool. Harry contributes to investment evaluation and portfolio reporting, focusing on technology-led and data-driven businesses.

Jess Jackson

Business Development Manager (PraeSeed Lead)

Jess manages early-stage venture investments in technology, healthcare and impact sectors. She leads PXN’s PraeSeed course, the first cohort investment programme in the North supported by British Business Bank’s NPIF II initiative. Before joining PXN, she was the Head of Investments at GC Angels, where she led and structured numerous early-stage deals across the North West that saw 50% of its capital deployed into Female founded companies and around 20% to BME founders. Jess also sits on Lifted Ventures’ High Growth Female Founders board for the North West, a collective supporting female-led businesses in the region.

Joe Ball

Insights Manager

Joe works in PXN’s Insights team, responsible for portfolio monitoring, data analysis and board support. He builds financial models and dashboards that help investors and founders understand performance, track growth and identify opportunities for value creation. Joe’s work underpins decision-making across the Ventures and Investments divisions.

Jon Prescott

Managing Director, PXN Investments

Jon leads PXN Investments, overseeing the group’s product and distribution strategy. He spent over 16 years at A J Bell working in the distribution function with particular focus across pension and platform. Prior to joining Praetura in 2018, he spent five years at Octopus Investments as Area Sales Director leading the sales and distribution strategy across the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Jon brings over 30 years of financial services experience with over 10 years working in the tax efficient investment arena.

Jono Taylor

Senior Marketing Manager

Jono leads adviser-facing marketing and product communications at PXN Investments. Before joining, he spent six years at Shore Capital Group, marketing Puma Investments’ EIS and VCT products, and earlier worked in brand strategy at MullenLowe in Cape Town. Jono combines regulated financial marketing expertise with strategic campaign planning, supporting the distribution team with clear, compliant and effective materials.

Josh Kumwenda

Internal Business Development Manager

Josh supports PXN’s internal business development function, managing adviser communications, lead tracking and sales coordination. He holds a degree in Accounting and Finance and a master’s in Investment and Finance. Josh helps streamline processes and reporting across PXN’s internal sales operations.

Kieran O’Shaughnessy

Internal Business Development Manager

Kieran supports advisers and investors as part of PXN’s internal business development team in the North of England, handling inbound queries, illustrations and events. He joined from a family-run recruitment business in Sydney, where he worked as a marketing analyst, bringing a practical grasp of data, campaigns and stakeholder comms. Kieran is focused on building responsive, long-term relationships with advisers as PXN scales its EIS, VCT, BR and other investment products.

Laura Hough

Executive Assistant to CEO

Laura supports PXN’s senior leadership team, managing coordination, scheduling and internal communications. She plays a key role in supporting board preparation, leadership meetings and project delivery across the group, ensuring efficient communication and organisation.

Laurence Tan

Investment Associate

Laurence works across PXN’s life sciences and healthcare investments. A qualified pharmacist with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, he supports scientific due diligence and portfolio management, helping translate research and innovation into commercial outcomes. Laurence’s academic and clinical background brings technical depth to the team’s health and biotech investments.

Louie Bodle

Internal Business Development Manager

Louie supports PXN’s internal sales team, coordinating adviser communications, product updates and case management. Before joining, he worked in asset finance underwriting, where he built strong financial and analytical skills. Louie ensures advisers receive timely information and clear support throughout the investment process and plays a key role in maintaining the efficiency of PXN’s commercial operations.

Louise Chapman

Investment Director (NPIF II Lead)

Louise leads the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II), managing early-stage and growth investments across the North of England. A chartered accountant, she spent nine years at KPMG in audit and advisory before joining PXN in 2017. Louise has been central to expanding PXN’s regional presence, supporting founders through the investment lifecycle and building strong relationships with local partners and stakeholders.

Lucy Kelly

Operations Director

Lucy oversees operations and delivery across PXN, ensuring that systems, processes and teams run effectively as the business scales. She joined from a background in strategy consulting and operational leadership in high-growth companies, where she led programmes focused on digital transformation, process improvement and data management. Lucy’s role is to maintain operational discipline while supporting innovation across PXN’s investment platform.

Lucy Vo

Insights Executive

Lucy works in PXN’s Insights team, managing portfolio data, financial reporting and performance tracking. She prepares board materials and investor reports and collaborates with founders to ensure consistent data across PXN’s portfolio. Lucy is AAT qualified and plays a vital role in ensuring that insights from PXN’s investments are timely, accurate and actionable.

Mandy Porteous

Mandy supports PXN’s partners and investor relations team, coordinating meetings, documentation and communication across the investment process. She has extensive experience in executive administration and plays an essential role in maintaining organisation, structure and efficiency across PXN’s leadership functions.

Martin Kelly

Client Services Manager

Martin manages PXN’s client services function, overseeing investor and adviser servicing. Before joining, he spent 16 years at AJ Bell, where he managed operations and service teams. Martin is responsible for investor onboarding, transaction support and reporting, ensuring a high level of service and attention to detail across PXN’s investor base.

Matthew Chan

Client Services Executive

Matthew works within PXN’s client services team, supporting the delivery of investor onboarding, valuations and reporting. A first-class graduate in International Business, he focuses on maintaining process accuracy and efficient communication between internal teams and external partners.

Mike Mannion

Business Development Manager

Mike manages adviser relationships across the North of England, helping them access PXN’s EIS, VCT and Business Relief solutions. With over 20 years’ experience in financial services, including senior roles at AJ Bell, he combines technical expertise with a consultative approach to support advisers through training, insight and case development.

Monika McIver

Accounts Assistant

Monika supports PXN’s finance team with reconciliations, management reporting and fund accounting. Before joining, she spent over a decade in finance roles at a London-based real estate investment and asset management business. Monika ensures financial records are complete, accurate and consistent across PXN’s multiple funds and entities.

Nicola MacLean

Compliance Manager

Nicola manages PXN’s compliance, risk and data protection frameworks. She has over 15 years of experience in investment management compliance, having held roles at Baillie Gifford, Aubrey Capital and a boutique London hedge fund. Nicola ensures PXN remains compliant with FCA regulations, AML obligations and data governance standards, maintaining operational integrity across the group.

Oliver Johnston-Watt

Investment Analyst

Oliver supports investment origination, due diligence and portfolio analysis across PXN’s venture funds. Before joining, he worked at Hambro Perks and within a family office focused on early-stage technology investments, and he has co-founded two startups. Oliver holds a degree in Ancient and Modern History from the University of Oxford and brings both analytical and founder perspectives to his work at PXN.

Patricia El Jichi

Investment Manager

Patricia manages origination, diligence and deal execution across PXN’s venture and growth funds. She previously worked with Ada Ventures and SIS Ventures, focusing on impact and technology-driven investments, and earlier spent over a decade at Citi and J.P. Morgan in capital markets and risk management. A CFA charterholder, Patricia brings institutional rigour and deep investment experience to PXN’s venture activity.

Paul Atkinson

Partner

Paul is a founding partner at Par Equity and chairs their PXN Investor Network. A serial entrepreneur and experienced investor, he has founded and exited multiple recruitment and professional services businesses, including Direct Resources, RecruitmentScotland.com and Taranata Group. Paul also leads PXN’s forestry and natural capital investments and plays a key role in growing the firm’s investor network and strategic partnerships.

Paul Munn

Executive Chair, PXN Group

As one of the previous co-founders and Managing Partner of Par Equity, Paul oversees PXN’s strategic and operational direction, fund performance and governance. A CIMA-qualified accountant, he has over 30 years of experience in corporate management, M&A and investment. Paul’s career includes senior positions at Mars, BUPA and PwC, followed by a transition into active shareholder and venture roles. He focuses on building a platform that balances investor performance with strong operational foundations.

Pauline Cassie

Investor Relations Director

Pauline manages investor relations across PXN’s private, institutional and intermediary networks. She has over 30 years of experience in wealth management and private banking and holds postgraduate and CISI qualifications. Pauline oversees investor reporting, events and communications, ensuring that PXN’s investors are kept fully informed and supported.

Pete Carway

Investment Director (VCT Lead)

Pete leads PXN’s VCT strategy and invests across software, technology and digital businesses. Prior to PXN Pete was the first c-suite level employee at a Manchester based AI start-up, which went on to raise over $100m before exiting to a US tech giant. As a qualified accountant with over 15 years of finance and venture capital, Pete plays an active role on portfolio boards, helping founders navigate the early stages of scaling a team, finding product market fit and growth funding.

Peter Marsland

Business Development Manager

Peter manages relationships with advisers and wealth managers across London and the South East. Before joining PXN, he worked at Octopus Investments as a Wholesale Private Markets Specialist and at Schroders in distribution. Peter supports advisers with due diligence, training and access to PXN’s tax-efficient and growth investment products.

Rebecca Hargreaves

Head of Finance

Rebecca leads PXN’s finance and accounting functions across the group. A chartered accountant (ICAS), she has extensive experience in multi-entity consolidation, audit management and financial control. Rebecca plays a key role in strategic planning and performance reporting, ensuring PXN’s financial operations are efficient, transparent and well governed.

Robert Higginson

Partner

Robert is a founding partner of Par Equity and member of the PXN Investment Committee. With a career spanning hardware, software, and communications product development, he has held senior strategy roles in Europe and the U.S. before becoming an investor. His experience includes positions at Artemis-Aurea Software, Reuters, Telekurs AG, and ABN AMRO’s investment bank. Since 2002, he has focused on technology transfer and early-stage businesses, particularly in Health Technology.

Rosie Bhattacharjee

Head of Compliance

Rosie joined PXN in 2024 with an in-depth background in venture compliance, having completed 8 years at Mercia Asset Management PLC. Rosie joined the FCA as a paralegal, after completing her law degree at Sheffield University. After 10 years working for the regulator in a variety of roles, she has worked in consultancy and in-house Head of Compliance roles, including at AJ Bell and IM Asset Management. She is a specialist in areas of the FCA rules with a rich understanding of how they should adhered to by companies operating in the sector.

Scott Mellor

Video and Media Lead

Scott leads PXN’s video and media production, creating films and content that showcase PXN’s founders, portfolio companies and investment activities. With experience in brand storytelling and documentary production, he works closely with marketing and investment teams to deliver content that captures the impact and ambition of PXN’s investments.

Scott Todd

Accountant

Scott supports PXN’s finance team with fund accounting, management reporting and reconciliation processes. He joined from Sky, where he worked in finance operations, and previously held accounting roles at West Lothian Council. Scott ensures PXN’s financial records and reporting remain accurate and compliant across multiple funds.

Sim Singh-Landa

Investment Director (GMC Life Sciences Fund Lead)

Sim leads PXN’s GMC Life Sciences Fund, investing in life sciences businesses across Greater Manchester and Cheshire. With more than 17 years of experience in financial services across banking, funds and real estate, she works closely with founders and research institutions to back innovation with strong commercial potential. Sim’s leadership has helped establish PXN as a leading investor in northern health innovation.

Stefano Smith

Investment Associate

Stefano works across deal origination, analysis and portfolio management. Before joining PXN, he held roles in asset management, corporate banking and financial planning, gaining experience in both institutional and private client environments. Stefano focuses on evaluating high-growth opportunities in B2B software and data-driven sectors.

Steve Green

Business Development Manager

Steve supports adviser relationships across the North of England. He brings over 30 years of experience in financial services, including senior distribution roles at Standard Life Aberdeen. Steve supports advisers with training, product access and case management, ensuring PXN’s offering is delivered effectively across the region.

Theo Watt

Communications Manager

Theo oversees PXN’s communications, press and editorial content. Before joining, he worked as a creative copywriter at agencies including Social Chain, where he produced campaigns for both consumer and B2B brands. Theo manages PXN’s written communications, ensuring the group’s messaging remains consistent, engaging and aligned with its strategic positioning.

Tom Croy

Investment Director

Tom is responsible for deal origination, investment appraisal, due diligence, fundraising, investment execution, and managing follow-on funding for portfolio companies. He is a member of the Investment Committee for Par Forestry III and IV L.P. and is involved in Par’s forestry investments. With a background as a corporate lawyer at Addleshaw Goddard, Tom holds degrees in Law, certificates in Corporate Finance and ESG.

Tom Hardman

Insights Director

Tom leads PXN’s Insights team, delivering the data and analysis that inform investment and portfolio decisions. Before joining, he held analytical and commercial finance roles at Push Doctor and AO, helping both companies scale through data-led decision-making. At PXN, Tom’s team works across Ventures and Investments to provide actionable insight and portfolio intelligence.
