Head to Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield or anywhere else in Yorkshire and youโll sense that something special is happening here.
At PXN, weโre continuing to play a key part in this charge, leading the regionโs development to a fully-fledged engine room for innovation.
Weโre already planning to bring ยฃ1bn of new capital to the North, including Yorkshire, but our plans for the region go deeper than capital alone.
That’s because weโre backing initiatives and collaborating with key change makers in the region, including but not limited toโฆ
Leeds Angels: Chaired and managed by two fantastic exited entrepreneurs (Hazel Savage & Mark Roberts), we are one of the first and only VCs to collab the newly-formed group. Weโll be sharing deal flow and potential investment opportunities.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust – Innovation Pop Ups: A perfect partner for startups, the Trust carries out the largest number of clinical trials in the UK. As the only VC connected to the trustโs Innovation Pop Ups, weโll be partnering on talks and events aimed at HealthTech companies in the region.
Enterprise Fellowship Programme with Bradford-Renduchintala Enterprise Ecosystem (BREE) and the University of Bradford: PXN is the only VC to provide additional support to founders working with the Enterprise Fellowship programme. Over the past two years, weโve been privileged to support the work of underrepresented founders in Bradford City Region.
WYCA Investor Forum: PXN has been asked to support the West Yorkshire Combined Authority‘s work in driving more investment into the region. As part of WYCAโs quarterly Investor Forum meet ups in Leeds, PXN will be working with equity partners based in WY or those looking to invest here, enabling us to help WYCA tackle key challenges and bring more investment into the region.
Weโre also proud to support Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber via PXN Partner Robert H., who two years ago became the Investor in Residence for the network’s HealthTech accelerator Propel@YH. Robert continues to work with various cohort companies, providing in-depth investment knowledge.
As you can see, PXN is committed to Yorkshireโs growth and the growth of founders in the region. Weโll also be expanding our presence across the whole of Yorkshire next year, so continue to watch this space for updates.
